Marking Period 1 is dedicated to an in-depth review of chemistry (as it relates to Biology), and Cell Theory. We'll make sure we understand the parts of the cell so we can go into further detail later.
The Second Marking Period is dedicated to in-depth examination of key concepts in Biology: The Cell Cycle, Cell Differentiation, and Inheritance. We'll learn the mechanics behind inheritance of characteristics, and the process of how characteristics are expressed.
This marking period ties it all together - from the chemistry back in September, through evolution and beyond. We need to understand our place in the Earth - and how all living things change their environments; sometimes for the better, and sometimes for the worse.

We are getting to some of the difficult concepts now - Evolution and the development of different kinds of life. We'll also examine how energy flows through the environment by looking at Food Webs and Tropic Levels.
